Busy, Busy Summer

It has been a busy and hectic summer. So many plans and too little daylight to go around. Feels kind of like we are burning the candle at both ends.

Back to garden photos......

The Echinacea is looking great for being in its home for only one year.

Sanguisorba, often refered to as Bottlebrush is actually a member of the rose family.

This might actually be the year I will finally have enough grapes that I can make some wine.

After a near death experience,  my hydrangeas have bounced back after a good samaritan mowed them to the ground by accident.

This flower is often refered to as "Buttonbush". Native to eastern north america it will (with luck) produce balls of red berries.

At the edge of the woodland garden lies a field of gold, my brown eyed susans.

Unsure of this guy blooming in the woodland but I suspect it to be a cousin of the brown eyed susan a native species called rudbeckia laciniata.

Hosta mound in bloom.

Lambs Ear in bloom.

Blue Jays like to hide food. This is a sunflower that grew from a stash they hide.

Lily Tree in bloom,
